Halloween

With over 40,000 people dressed up and marching, October 31st 2009 marked the 35th anniversary of the New York's Village Halloween Parade. Originally started by a Greenwich Village mask maker and puppeteer, the Parade has continued to grow each year and is currently the largest celebration of its kind in the world. Picked by Festivals International as "The Best Event in the World" for October 31, there literally isn't any more exciting a place to be on all hallows eve.

Tombstone

Lying a hour and a half north of Dawson City, Yukon, Tombstone Territorial Park encompasses about 2,200 square kilometers of rugged mountain terrain. Its geographic position allows for a concentration of ecological niches, which have resulted in a diverse collection of flora and fauna. Nestled far away from the encroaching arms of civilization the park offers those willing to traverse its jagged peaks unrivaled beauty and solitude.

Sundog Carvers

After 10 weeks living on a secluded island in the Yukon River, the Sundog Carvers returned to family and friends. On August 19th the carvers put their 10-metre-long boat into the river and rowed home to a cheering crowd. Carved from one solid log the craft is one of just two of its kind carved in the Yukon in the last century. Likely only a handful have ever been made by carvers working this far inland.
